How to Use the ROI & Pricing Calculator

Follow these steps to estimate added revenue/profit and compare pricing plans.

1. Open the Calculator

  • Go to the page where the module is placed.

  • You’ll see Inputs on the left and Results + Compare Plans on the right (or stacked on mobile).

2. Set Basics

  • Currency: Pick the symbol in the module editor (e.g., $, €, ₱).

  • Analysis Period: Choose Monthly or Yearly from the dropdown.

3. Enter Your Inputs

  • Monthly Visitors: Average site sessions per month.

  • Baseline Conversion Rate (%): Current conversion rate (e.g., 2.5).

  • Expected Conversion Lift (%): Predicted relative improvement (e.g., 20 for +20%).

  • Average Deal/Order Value: Typical revenue per conversion.

  • Gross Margin (%): Your gross profit percentage.

Tip: Numbers can be adjusted with the keyboard or by typing exact values.

4. Calculate Results

  • Click Recalculate.

  • The Results card shows:

    • Added conversions (based on lift)

    • Added revenue (currency-formatted)

    • Gross profit (uses your margin)

5. Compare Plans

  • Review each plan card (Starter, Growth, Pro, etc.).

  • The ROI vs plan stat shows % return based on your Gross profit minus the plan cost (period-aware).

6. Share or Save the Outcome

  • Click Copy results to copy a clean text summary (inputs + results) to your clipboard.

  • Paste into email, Slack, or your notes.

7. (Optional) Output Product JSON-LD

  • In the module editor, toggle Output Product JSON-LD to On.

  • The module will emit JSON-LD for the highest-ROI plan (best pick for SEO product snippets).


Editing in HubSpot (Content Authors)

  1. Open the page in Edit mode.

  2. Select the ROI & Pricing Calculator module.

  3. In Content:

    • Update Heading, Helper Text, Currency, Inputs, and Plans (name, price, description).

  4. In Styles:

    • Choose Preset (Light/Dark), Accent Color, Corner Radius, and Shadow.

  5. Publish or Update the page.


Notes & Best Practices

  • Lift is relative: 20% means baseline CR × 1.2, not +20 points.

  • Plan prices are monthly; yearly comparisons multiply by 12 automatically.

  • Use realistic margin to get meaningful ROI.

  • The module is theme-aware; accent color inherits your theme’s primary color.

  • All interactions are client-side; no CRM/HubDB required.


Troubleshooting

  • Numbers look off? Check that CR and Margin are in percent (e.g., 2.5, 70) not decimals.

  • Copy fails? Browser may block clipboard; select the text in Results and copy manually.

  • No JSON-LD visible? It’s injected as a <script type="application/ld+json">—use “View Source” or dev tools to confirm.


Glossary

  • Baseline CR: Current conversion rate before changes.

  • Expected Lift: Estimated percentage improvement to CR.

  • AOV: Average order/deal value.

  • Gross Profit: Added revenue × margin.

  • ROI vs plan: ((Gross Profit − Plan Cost) ÷ Plan Cost) × 100.
